Meet Athalie
Hi, I’m Athalie Phau, a Clinical Psychologist from Singapore and the founder of AP Psychology. I’m passionate about supporting children, teens, and their caregivers as they navigate mental health, neurodiversity, and parenting challenges. I also provide support for families throughout their perinatal journey, drawing on both professional expertise and lived experience.
I speak conversational Mandarin, which many families find helps them feel more at ease. Clients would describe my therapeutic style as reflective, grounded, nurturing, curious, and active - and I try to bring these qualities into every session.
I’m also a Board-Approved Supervisor, and this is a part of my work that feels especially meaningful. The guidance I received early in my career shaped me deeply, and I now strive to offer the same — supervision that is safe, attuned, reflective, and nurturing. My hope is to help early-career psychologists grow into the kind of clinicians they want to be: confident, compassionate, thoughtful, and grounded.
My Backstory
My journey into psychology started long before I studied it. Growing up alongside an autistic loved one taught me early on that people experience the world in beautifully different ways. It sparked my lifelong curiosity about how our brains work, how relationships shape us, and how support can make all the difference.
I’ve also had seasons in my own life that deeply shaped who I am as a psychologist. I’ve experienced perinatal grief and loss, the steep emotional learning curve of adjusting to parenthood, and the stretch and vulnerability of moving countries and navigating cultural expectations. During these periods, I sought my own therapy — and it helped me grow, heal, and reconnect with myself. They’re the reason I approach therapy with sensitivity, respect, and genuine curiosity.
I also love hiking and exploring new trails. Being in nature gives me a sense of grounding and perspective, and reminds me of the resilience and renewal that can come from life’s different seasons.
I believe that every person’s journey is unique, and I am here to walk alongside you as you find your own path to growth, healing, and hope.
Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Do what you can.

My Professional Life
Over the years, I’ve worked in university, private practices, and public mental health settings. I’ve supported people across the lifespan — children, teens, adults, and families — with mental health concerns, life transitions, and neurodivergence. I also conduct diagnostic assessments for autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties, and I’ve facilitated group programs for children, teens, and adults on topics like ADHD, resilience, and supporting others with mental health concerns. I continue to work in a university setting, supporting both students and staff with their mental health and wellbeing.
